Halliday) is a British-born Australian linguist who developed the internationally influential systemic functional linguistic model of language. His grammatical descriptions go by the name of systemic functional grammar (SFG). Halliday describes language as a semiotic system， "not in the sense of a system of signs， but a systemic resource for meaning". 1925年出生于約克郡，青年時期在倫敦大學主修中國語言文學，獲得學士學位。1947-49年到北京大學深造，師從羅常培先生；1949-50轉(zhuǎn)入嶺南大學，跟隨王力先生攻讀現(xiàn)代漢語。1955年完成了對用我國1世紀北方官話譯述的《元朝秘史》一文的語言學分析，獲得劍橋大學哲學博士學位。韓禮德先后在英美多高校任職。1987年12月退休。 Metafunctions 元功能  Ideational function (概念功能)： aims to reveal that language is a means of social interaction， based on the position that language system and the forms that make it up are inescapably determined by the uses or functions which they serve. Interpersonal function(人際功能)：rembodies all uses of language to express social and personal relations. This includes the various ways the speaker enters a speech situation and performs a speech act. Textual function(語篇功能 )：refers to the fact that language has mechanisms to make any stretch of spoken or written discourse into a coherent and unified text and make a living passage different from a random list of sentences.  Ideational function (概念功能) 經(jīng)驗功能（experiential function） 物性系統(tǒng) (Transitivity System) 物質(zhì)過程（material process）； 心理過程（mental process）； 關系過程（relational process）；行為過程（behavioral process）； 言語過程（verbal process）； 存在過程（existential process）。 語態(tài) (Voice) Interpersonal function (人際功能) refers to the grammatical choices that enable speakers to enact their complex and diverse interpersonal relations. based on the claim that a speaker not only talks about something， but is always talking to and with others. Language not only construes experience， but simultaneously acts out “the interpersonal encounters that are essential to our survival”. Halliday argues that these encounters. It expresses the speaker’s role in the speech situation， his personal commitment and assessment of the social relationship between the addressee and himself. Interpersonal function (人際功能) 人際功能所著重的，就是語言用于人與人之間交流的這種作用與功能。人際功能，由語氣 (mood) 和情態(tài) (modality) 構成。語氣指交流時雙方扮演的角色；而情態(tài)指的是這個句子是判斷還是推測的，也就是說肯定的成分有多大。 語氣也可以分為兩部分：主語 (Subject) 和限定成分 (Finite). 限定成分指表示時態(tài)（例如 didn’t， will ）和情態(tài)動詞（例如 can， would ）。 而一個句子剩下的部分就是叫做剩余部分 (Residue) 了。剩余部分有謂語 (Predicator)， 補足語(Complement)， 附加語 (Adjunct). 補足語相當于傳統(tǒng)語法的賓語，附加語相當于傳統(tǒng)語法當中的狀語。 Textual function(語篇功能 ) 主位結(jié)構（Thematic Structure） 主位（Theme）是話語的出發(fā)點（point of departure），是小句的第一個成分。 述位（Rheme）是圍繞主位所說的話，往往是話語的核心內(nèi)容。主位必須先于述位。 信息結(jié)構（Information Structure） 已知信息（Given）：言語活動中已經(jīng)出現(xiàn)過的或根據(jù)語境可以斷定的成分 新信息（New）：言語活動中尚未出現(xiàn)或者根據(jù)語境難以斷定的成分 銜接系統(tǒng)（Cohesion） 語篇的整體性主要體現(xiàn)為： 語域一致性（register consistency）：語篇與語域前后一致 語篇特征（texture）：結(jié)構性（主位與信息結(jié)構）與非結(jié)構性（銜接）特征 當話語中的某一成分的解釋取決于另一成分的解釋時，便會出現(xiàn)銜接（cohesion）。例如：Peter had a wife but he couldn’t keep her. 銜接的手段 語法銜接：照應（reference）、省略（ellipsis）、替代（substitution）與連接（conjunction） 詞匯銜接：重復（repetition）、同義（synonymy）、反義（antonymy）、上下義（hyponymy）、搭配（collocation）等等。5Cv紅軟基地
